surrounded & alone

:: i've been working on a people watching project lately and one thing is for certain. everyone experiences loneliness. maybe i notice because i am drawn to them or perhaps they are the only ones in the coffee shop or maybe it's because we are all lonely people.

:: am i lonely? i wouldn't say so. but sometimes yes, i get caught up in my own little world and think i am the only one to ever experience pain.

:: this year i am going to make a point of getting to know these so called "lonely people" or at least listen for i already am well acquainted with many. americans experience a lot of loneliness these days. we are so overly stimulated that we shut out the important things in life. we don't allow people in. we convince ourselves and everyone around us that we are ok...and we wonder why we feel lonely...
