:: my papa and i went on an adventure today. it was my first time out of the house after having my wisdom teeth removed. a day in the canoe sounds relaxing right? perfect medicine! well, it was. but it was also adventurous [as it should be]. little did we know that today was the day for "Aquapalooza" :: a huge boat party on the island right behind our house.
:: after we launched the canoe [off a seawall] we decided to go the long way around the island to get to the lighthouse and eat some lunch. now, let's add in a canoe in the middle of a bunch of yachts and a shifting tide and you've got yourself some action...the excitement was most certainly enhanced by the pain meds in my system as well. i've never been so nervous before...the wakes were making our peaceful canoe ride more like a white water rafting adventure.
:: we made it out alive. saw my cousin and her boyfriend fishing. had our lunch. and even hitched a ride back from one of our neighbors! we did make one more stop though...we explored another island that now has a huge crater-like appearance because of the dredging the city has done for hurricane restoration.
:: it was a fun adventure with my dad. i'm so blessed to have a dad who still "dates" me.
